I've been a pharmacy technician for over three years, so I've amassed quite a few stories over the years. This is my little place to talk about it - the good, the bad, the ugly, the illegal, the disgusting, the ridiculously stupid, and everything in between. Basically? The (mis)adventures of a CPhT in the trenches of retail pharmacy.
About me & HIPAA
I'm a pharmacy tech working for a major retail chain. Most days, as of the past 6 months, I absolutely hate my job and wish I was somewhere else, but at the same time, someone can come in and change my entire day. This blog is where I'll attempt self-therapy, before I have a complete breakdown, and hopefully relay some humorous and/or informative anecdotes.
Also, so as to not get sued if someone were to figure out exactly who I am, where I work, etc, and try to hold it against me, I'm never going to use real names. If I do decide to use names, they won't be the patient's true names. I may use approximate ages and such, but I'm planning to adhere to HIPAA, as I really do like being a technician, and really don't want to lose my job anytime soon.
